Pure relaxation, relief for those sore swollen feet, get ready for labour
The spiritual alternative to a baby shower
I offer family centered continuity of care in your own home. Appointments start in the first trimester and are usually every 4-6 weeks until 32 weeks. From there we catch up fortnightly until 37 weeks, appointments then become weekly until birth. During this time I will provide education and information to you and your support team, we will discuss strategies for labour, your personal preferences and safe options for you and your baby.
I will be on call for your birth from 37 weeks. When your labour begins I will provide full labour care at home as long as it is safe to do so. If we decide to transfer to a hospital setting I will come with you as your support person.
After the baby is born I will visit you everyday for the first five days and then at least once a week for the next four weeks (more if needed).
I am registered as a Medicare Eligible Midwife with AHPRA which means you can claim some of the costs from Medicare. This also means that I am able to order any pregnancy related blood tests and ultrasounds that you decide to have carried out.
Check with your Private Health fund to see if they also cover some of the costs.
Once your baby is born the work begins! Often it is at this vital point that the midwifery care and support from your maternity service will stop.
If you feel that you and your baby would benefit from continued midwifery support with breastfeeding, settling and mother-crafting then please consider a Babymoon postnatal package. If you see your GP for a referral this service is mainly covered by medicare.
Postnatal home visits are available from birth till your baby is six weeks old if required.

A Baby Blessingway is the spiritual alternative to a Baby shower. Women gather together to empower and support one another as they step into the role of bearing and raising children. A Blessingway creates space to come together as a support circle for the expecting mother, and bless the way ahead for her. It is a web woven of the most trusted and cherished women in her life. Those who will provide a loving place where she can explore the challenges and joys that lie before her as she approaches her journey into motherhood.
As your Blessingway facilitator I will create an experience that focus's on making the mother to be feel like a queen! Together we will honour her and the journey from maiden to mother.
I completed my midwifery degree at the University of Brighton in the UK in 2007 and moved to Perth WA in 2009. I have practiced my craft in all models of maternity care including Hospitals and Birth centers. I have attended over a hundred home births as a midwife and I am recognized as an expert in water birth. The findings from my widely acclaimed water birth research have been published and presented internationally. I have trained as a Hypnobirthing practitioner and I am a qualified clinical reflexologist. I have had three babies of my own. Their wings have dried and they have flown the nest.
My personal philosophy is to support normal birth where possible, offer women information so they can make good choices, to promote self-care relaxation and connection for women and couples in this pivotal period of their life.
